My cholesterol was high enough that a statin was prescribed for me. I decided instead to try to lower it on my own.. I took krill oil, cut way back on saturated fat, added psyllium husk and Benecol chews. IN one month my cholesterol was in normal lmits. I"m not sure which factor had the most impact.. I suspect it was a combination. In my diet, I had already eliminated most processed foods, white flour, sugar, etc..

This NKO is a great way to get your Omega 3s plus I haven't had any trouble with burping up fish smell like with the fish oil capsules. Plus I think it has helped with some PMS symptoms as noted on the bottle.

I was doubtful about the claims I've heard regarding Omega-3, then after trying everything from meds to therapy for depression and losing hope anything would ever help I decided to learn more about Omega3. I am finally feeling better and am a believer! If you've read Sears book, I found The Omega-3 Connection offered even more mind blowing/informative facts on the effects of eating our now Omega3 depleted food because of all the chemical alterations and genetic enhancements it undergoes and the effects it has on the brain.
The grade, source, manufacturing, and ratio of EPA to DHA make all the difference in quality. I don't believe Dr Sears is simply promoting his product as much as this is a newly pioneered area and like all first productions ... production & quality improve as we learn more about benefits and Sears is trying to convey this important fact and has produced a supplement that is of a purer resource (fish from less poluted areas) & follows a higher standard of production (removes more than required environmental pollutants) to ensure its quality and its effectiveness.

Helpful Hint: Don't be fooled by claims of 250mg - 1200mg per capsule (can simply mean its a bigger pill). To compare the amounts of Omega3 per capsule, you need to find the highest concentrate per capsule (less pills to swallow) by dividing the mg amount of EPA/DHA by the number of capsules per serving. A good source is www.omegabright.com, 90% concentration, virtually tasteless, pharmaceutical grade, and inexpensive.

More than likely this will improve your dog's coat and improve it fast. In my experience high quality salmon oil (meaning it is wild caught, NOT farm raised which can have mercury in it) is the fastest working, most effective supplement to make your dog's skin and coat healthier with a show ring luster (It does it by helping the body produce more natural oil. A lack of oil leaves fur dry, dull, and brittle and a lack of Omega 3 Fatty Acids (which this is crammed with) can make the skin irritated because it doesn't have enough omega 3 to properly care for itself.)

To give you an idea how fast this works. I had a dog with severly dry skin and a dry coat (so bad it made me itch if it rubbed against my skin) that showed improvement in just a week or two and he's been getting better ever since. I had another dog whose coat was slightly dry and this got it into good condition in about two weeks.

Now when I brush my dog's they have oil in their coat for the brush to spread around and make it shiny and the skin is supple. However, you must brush your dog's coat once or twice a week because now that the coat is producing normal amounts of oil you need to make sure it spreads over the entire shaft of the hair (which brushing does) or it will start to feel gunky whereas if the oil is spread around the dog will just feel very nice.

As another bonus, whenever you bathe and shampoo your dog (which washes the oil out), the time it takes for the oil to replinish itself in the fur will be much shorter!

I have used several commercially prepared products over the past twenty years. Grizzly Salmon oil seems to be providing the nutrients necessary for good coats on my dogs, and I have been putting two squirts into the dogs' food daily for about six months. I have three Labrador retrievers, and all are sporting their best coats. I have used Lipiderm in the past, which also works very well. I believe that quite a few of the products marketed for improving good skin and coats are effective, and occasionally try out a new one. I don't believe the advertisements, but prefer to read labels, look for key ingredients, and try for myself.

We have a nearly 9 year old Malamute. He has a fabulous coat of hair but was starting to get chronic skin problems. The salmon oil cured him. The results were quick (within a month). The only "special" advice I would offer is KEEP IT REFRIGERATED. Our malamute is obsessively food-centric... he will eat almost anything; but when the last of the large bottle I was storing at room temperature (mid sixties) went rancid he refused his kibble. I made the mistake of buying 4 large bottles all at once. I suggest you get them one at a time and keep it refrigerated (even though it says you can keep it at room temperature).

Coromega Fish oil is great. However this is the third time I have received damaged goods. I have complained each time and they assured me it would be taken care of and it has not.

Both of my boys were freaked out by the lemon lime flavor of the fish oil at first but now they started asking for it and run for it when I have it ready for them. They love the bright green color and now the taste and they love squeezing the packet themselves. It's nice that this kit comes with both the fish oil & the mulit gummies so I don't have to order both which saves time.

My nurse-practitioner had suggested taking fish oil capsules as a means of addressing my cholesterol levels. She recommended an enteric coated product so as to reduce the chances of having "fish breath". Having two cats in the house makes this good advice.

I've been taking the Member's Mark product for a couple of weeks now. I have had only one instance where I could smell my own breath but that was after some other gastric distress. I would say that the product lives up to its promises. The slight vanilla taste and aroma of the capsules makes swallowing more palatable.

I've been taking fish oil capsules for the past few years, and initially used another brand of fish oil capsules without an enteric coating. The other brand also offered an enteric coated product, which I also tried, but the Member's Mark brand has excellent quality at a better price.

I have been using the recommended dosage, and have noticed that my fasting triglyceride level dropped from 130 in 4/2007 to 62 in 4/2008. My total cholesterol has decreased from 150 to 131 in the same period. While my HDL cholesterol was unaffected, my LDL cholesterol decreased from 103 to 98, and my VLDL cholesterol decreased from 26 to 12.

I don't know how usual that is, but I am physically disabled, and was unable to increase my activity level. I also lost 30 pounds over the same time period, and suspect that my reduced fat diet may have also been a factor. While there are several factors affecting my test results, I believe that the enteric coated fish oil capsules were a significant factor. I have never had any "fishy" aftertaste with the Members Mark enteric coated fish oil capsules.
